| Would like to see us shoot for some local sponsors. I have a few ideas but I'm sure some of you are thinking of some of the same. | |

| Would love to hear what you are thinking about this, honestly I haven't been thinking about this since we dropped SF. | |

| I would love to have sponsers but they need to give us stuff or money to help with gear... Not like SF that gave us a discount and we still had to wear there mask... That is my input. | |

| I would love to get Tippmann Pros/Red Cell. It would be great to have that shop at the DMS games for sure, get them in the local scene more other than Blitz.
Bolt: Nobody is going to give us free stuff. The only people that get free stuff are the pros who are seen on TV. DMS pays for all their sponsorship stuff at discount. The only things they get free are giveaways for the games. I know BLC gets nothing free as well.
Its all about the discount for us and a little face time for them. If we can get a shop to sponsor we can bring giveaways for the games, that would be huge.

| Bronx is correct there are no free gear sponsors, the deal we got with Save Phace is the norm. Even if we landed Ninja, KEE, dye or any paintball sponsor there is only going to be a discount on gear. Only pros get the gear for free.
As far as local sponsors that would have to be worked out on a case by case bases on what the trade off would be, if we are searching for a local sponsor then the they will be looking for a benefit from the partnership just like we will, nothing in life is free.
I dont see the point in getting random local sponsors, but i do see the benefit in Red Cell/Tippmann pros, Dynamic or some other local paintball shop/paintball company.
The only problem with us landing paintball sponsorships is we do not compete in tournaments, out of state events to help spread the word or pimp the sponsors.
Just my .02

| I'm not sure if TP would be willing to sponsor someone, since they go to a lot of the games we do as well, and when they do they rarely give away gear. We might swing a deal per game to represent them but if the guys there are playing there is no sense in them giving out a sponsorship.
Still if we wanted to pitch it I'm game. As it is they already get free advertisement on our site as one of our team favorites. Perhaps we should think about if we want to revise that or not. Do we want to give free advertisement/link to local shops, or do we want to approach them with a sponsorship to get it.
Myself I am kind of with LCT on this one, is a small discount worth being obligated to pimp their stuff at games. Especially since only some of the team would really get the benefits of this since we are spread out so far. Having gear to give away at games would be great, but I kind of like not having anybody to answer to but ourselves.
Like LCT said, my .02 on this.

| I don't know who you are talking to at Tippmann Pros but they haven't made a single DMS game. Every time I talk to the brothers they ask me what the field is like. | |

| I talked to Nick the last time I was up there and they have nt gone to any of the DMS games. The went to the Fledgling games in Agate but he didn't sound to interested in going all the way to the CO Springs area. | |

| Hmm I guess I remembered them going to the Fledgling games, I thought they made at least one DMS game but I guess I am mistaken.

| I know no one will give us free stuff and that is my point... I don't want to be sponsered by halo and have to use a halo hopper unless it's free.. That is just a example. I say we only get a sponser if it fully benifits us.. And them. Now if we can get some sponsers to help pay for balls or field fees that would be worth looking into! As far as gear goes we are all pretty decked out comparied to alot of other teams out there. So there is not a need for gear sponserships. | |

| Hate to burst your bubble but the title of this thread is Local Sponsors. Which means I wanted to talk to shops such as Dynamic and Tippmann Pros. Empire, Halo, Angel, etc. aren't local unless I missed something.
I agree with you on the gear. We all like different stuff and fit into different stuff. What I thought we should look at is promoting places we like to shop and possibly getting a discount there. Tell me how many times have you been to the same shop and spent money. Think about if you had a discount and how much money you could have saved.
This sport will die if the paintballers don't support their local shops. The internet is taking over and people are lazy. I want to try on my gear before I buy it. I want to talk paintball with the guys at the shop.
So if getting a lousy discount helps promote a shop you like to go to all the time, why not do it?

| Good point Bronx, I hadn't thought in terms of promoting them to further the sport. The guys at TP have been pretty good to me, and I am with you about holding something I am going to buy in my hand and having someone to take it back to if its not working out right.
If the team wants to approach TP or Dynamic about this, I'm totally game but if we do we should do so professionally and not just stopping by and saying hey wanna sponsor us. If we do this I say we make an appointment, bring stats and a good outline of how we can help his business.
What I don't want to happen though is us putting forth more effort into it than they are willing to, if they want us to fly a banner for them at games, they should buy it. I don't feel we should have to put in any money for them, and I don't feel we should put any sponsor on our own team banner.

| I love shopping at local shops as much as anyone else, i feel we should always buy local to help the mom and pops stay in business. And i agree about the major name sponsors, we all play with different gear and have different play styles so going with one gun, mask, or what ever company would never work for us. I just dont see the point in a sponsorship for the team right now i guess. But what do i know.... i know i like beer, can we get a beer sponsor or a liquor store? Perhaps Davids off I-25 and hwy 7... | |

| Like I said it was just something to mull over during this off-season. If we don't so be it, just wanted to see what everyone thought about it.
Would reallly like a jersey though. Keep looking at buying one but trying to be patient.
