5 out of 10

I cannot speak for Kohn concerning their products such as their jerseys, headbands or other, this is strictly a review of their custom laser engraving for markers.

I have mixed feelings about Kohn right now, on the one hand I think their artwork is outstanding, the design they came up with for my marker was far better than I expected. I haven't seen the actual engraving on my marker so I will update once I have that in hand, but for now quality seems to be at around 8 out of 10.

The other side of the coin with them is they are slow, they do not keep you updated on the status of your marker unless you pester them (which I really really hate doing), and there is no information on the process and what you can expect or need to do once you purchase the custom package.

They had 2 websites up (since my order they have taken the old down).

The old one at least had a brief explanation of what you can expect, it explained the process and had some faq, however it was misleading since they do not follow this same process anymore, in fact in the old web site it indicated that shipping the marker back to me was included in the price and I was only responsible for the cost of shipping the marker to them. However that apparently is not the case anymore (not that their new web site says this). They did however honor the free shipping since it was misleading, just beware do not expect this from them now.

The new web site has absolutely no information at all about the process, what you can expect, shipping or anything really. The only thing it has is the purchase button and a small disclaimer at the bottom that states "Click to purchase! We will contact you for design." That's it. Honestly without me looking at the old site I probably wouldn't have gone with Kohn just because of this.

If you're looking for a stock pattern, they have a large selection to choose from, many of which are very nice.

Communication with them is 50/50, they will respond to your questions, but it is on their time so don't expect the answers right away.

The biggest problem I had with Kohn is they would give you a deadline to indicate when they would have something done (such as getting the first draft of your design), and they never once met it, in fact they were an average of a week late in every case that they said they would have something done, and never once sent an indication that they were running late. Overall it has been around a month since I first purchased the custom package and the marker hasn't been lasered as of yet. Granted they had some equipment problems with their lasering machine which explains the delay, however going back to my problem with them, they never told me this, I had to pester it out of them.

My overall review would be 5 out of 10, their artist are top notch, but I'm not sure the frustration in dealing with their customer service, and the amount of time it has taken to complete the process has been worth it. If you have time the artwork is worth it, if you have a deadline you need your marker back by, you might want to consider another dealer.

Hope this helps someone make a decision on Kohn for custom laser engraving.

yw, if you were looking to get you gun lasered I have a few other web sites I was checking out before I went with Kohn.

I have no idea about these, but here is the list, and like I said in my review, I did think Kohn did an awesome job on the artwork. I am not trying to steer people away from them, I just want people to know my experience and decide for themselves.

This is the site for the guy LCT went through for ANNO, I would have went with him originally but he never got back with me, you might have better luck.

Good luck, if anybody knows other sites please feel free to add to the list.
