Buckaroo Banzai vs the World Crime League

Rowlf let me know that registration has opened up for this one, we need to create a secure forum and a non secure forum for this.

I would like for the team to get registered up early for this one, I am going to talk with Hooligan and see if he needs any rolls filled, is there anybody interested in playing a roll? If not we will do what we always do and just be a force on the field for people to contend with. I would love to run more missions though as a team, they are what wins the game in the end and now that we have stepped it up to the next level at the last game I think we can keep it up and make a huge difference in the final scoring.

Let us know who is registering for this and when you can have the money, I believe Wego is taking the money this time.

If you haven't seen this movie from the 80's you will want to watch it before the game that is for sure. Cult Classic 80's sci fi flick!

I say we start registering in groups of 5 just to get it going. Get our first five and register, then another, and so on. This way we aren't all waiting and we can find out who needs help getting to this game.

With that said if someone needs help, let me know. I don't mind loaning teammates some cash to play.

I am excited to see that Nemesis will be on my side. Those are the type of Hong Kong Cavaliers I need!( watch the movie). I only have 1 role filled so far, and that is for Jeff Goldblum's character. My teammate Luke is gonna look fresh in a cowboy hat, red plaid shirt and sheepskin chaps.
If anyone sees a character in the movie they like, let me know. I'm sure we can make something happen.

I've been avoiding this, now you leave me no choice. This movie sucks! But then again I haven't liked a couple of the movies we've played games from.

My first thoughts on when the game was announced was " We couldn't find a better 80's movie than this?" It's bad, like "Howard the duck" or "Ishtar" bad. However, it gives us a great plot line and awesome characters to pick from; I get to have my Hong Kong Cavaliers and Blue Blazer crews. Covert is lucky; she gets to pick bad guys from anytime in history to be on her side. Al Capone, Gheghis Khan, whoever she wants.
I figure half the fun of this game will be all of the 80's costumes. Just look at the stuff they wear in the movie. I'm extra excited that my DRV revolvers will be here in time for the game. Can't wait to get my Buckaroo on slinging firststikes from a pair of single action revolvers.

I am saving up to make this one, i just hope i can get the time off to drive out there and back to fling some paint with you guys. I dont think i will have a problem with it being in Oct. But who knows.

It looks like I won't be flying back for this, money-wise it doesn't work out and I have a tourney in Cali that weekend and I'm on...I guess you would call it the varsity team this year so I have to be committed, and this will be our first tourney of the year so I really can't skip it.

so I know most people know whats where and stuff.. but is there any info on this game? lol, I dont see a date, location, price.... anything

Ok I broke down and watched this again... I will have to say my memory of this movie is much better than the actual... ok crap it was horrible but I can see how it would make for a good scenario, with good props and costumes. Lets just hope that the acting on the field is better than in this movie lol.

You should see it if you haven't just so you'll understand the scenario better but if you pay more than a dollar to rent it you are getting ripped off.

They should do one on the Princes bride they could have the dread pirates, led by the Dread pirate Robert (take your pick on which one) against Florinese led by Prince Humperdinck. There are tons of characters to choose from. Now this is a good 80's movie.

In 1984, famed astrophysicist, neurosurgeon, and musician, Buckaroo Banzai, shocked the world when he drove his rocket car through a mountain! This amazing feat was brought to reality through the efforts of Buckaroo and his friend Dr. Hikita and their invention, the Oscillation Overthruster. At the time, the Overthruster allowed Banzai to cross into the 8th Dimension, sparking an interstellar war between Red and Black Lectroids from Planet 10, that occurred right here on Earth! With the destruction of the Red Lectroid vessel, and their leader, the evil John Worphing, Buckaroo saved the planet and returned to tinkering with the Overthruster. Now, 26 years later, Buckaroo Banzai has completed the ultimate feat. His further modifications of the Overthruster have allowed him to cross the ultimate dimension, time itself! However, after his first successful time-travel test, the Overthruster is stolen in a bold attack that results in the death of Dr. Hikita. Xan has used the vast sums of money generated by fat government contracts to fund experimentation in time travel. Frustrated by failures, Xan launches a bold Yakuza style attack and steals Buckaroo Banzai’s Overthruster. Utilizing the Overthruster’s time-travelling abilities, Hanoi Xan travels back in time to gather a gang of the most infamous criminals in American history. With Al Capone, Pretty Boy Floyd, Baby Face Nelson, and John Dillinger leading a gang of Red Lectroids, strangely all named John, Hanoi Xan prepares the ultimate crime spree.
